Welcome back fellow EMU students! Today your schedule will be filled with finding your new classes, meeting new friends, chugging lots of coffee (that's not so new) and making a fresh start!
However, in the midst of all this new-ness, don't forget that AUDITIONS for our Fall Semester are right around the corner... as in tomorrow, Thursday September 6th from 6:00-9:00pm and Friday September 7th from 3:00-6:00pm in the Sponberg Theatre. *Note....auditions are open to ALL EMU students regardless if they are a theatre major or not.
This Fall semester our Spectacular Line-up includes:
Merchant of Venice Directed by: Lee StilleStriking Twelve Directed by: MacKenzie Lewis and Ken Stevens
White as Snow, Red as Blood: The Story of Snow White Directed by: Jenny Koppera
At the Auditions....dun dun dun!
You must perform a one to two minute Shakespearean monologue or sonnet, one contemporary monologue or short story, and sing 16 bars from a musical (please bring sheet music in a three ring binder, a piano accompanist will be there).
Made it to Call Backs? Hooray!
Call Backs are Saturday September 8th in the Theatre AnnexSnow White: 10:00 to Noon
Merchant of Venice: 12:30 to 2:30pm
Plan to stay the entire time. Come dressed to move.
*Striking 12: Will not have call backs on the 8th-- TBA
So whether you're no stranger to auditions or it's your first time, know that this is the first step toward makin' the magic happen and receiving those standing ovations.
